Product Designer & Senior Product Designer

We're putting together a talented team to build the world's best calendar

Daybridge is the calendar the world's been waiting for. Unlike traditional calendar apps, it'll be expressive, intuitive, smart, and beautifully designed. Users will be able to add personal context to their plans, better manage their work/life balance, and more easily find time with others.

You'll build Daybridge with us

We want you to have a hands-on role in developing the direction of our product and the culture of our company. You'll work closely with Daybridge's founder and CEO, Kieran McHugh, who'll give you all the support you need.

You'll have the opportunity to become a senior leader for our product design function, and play an important role in growing the team and making new hires as we expand.

Although no two days will be the same, you'll typically be working with the team to:

  • build the foundations of our design system, and to make sure it's properly applied
  • define our brand style and art direction, working alongside freelance illustrators, iconographers, and visual designers
  • design product features for multiple platforms (desktop, iOS, and Android).

Who we're looking for

We're looking for smart, creative, and dependable product designers who'll seize the opportunity to make their mark on an early-stage company. You should apply if...

  • you have strong opinions on how to design, build, and operate consumer-facing product
  • you're a good communicator, and able to give and receive constructive feedback
  • you're comfortable working independently
  • you're excited to join an early-stage team, and are happy to pitch in with work outside of your discipline

What experience we're looking for

We're looking for people who:

  • have designed products for other technology companies
  • have been part of an in-house product design team
  • have a portfolio that they can walk us through
  • ideally have experience in interviewing other designers (you might have managed other designers too, but this isn't a requirement)

Our design tools

We use Figma to build and manage our design system. We'll incorporate more design tools as we grow, and you'll help us decide which ones we use.

Interview process

We want our interview process to be as straightforward and enjoyable as possible. The first step will be a quick call to discuss your past work and portfolio, and to see if we could be a good fit. We'll then ask you to complete a short piece of paid freelance work for us.

Once the process is finished, we promise to let you know our decision as soon as possible.

How to apply

Please email your CV and portfolio to hiring@daybridge.com, along with anything else you think might help your application. In your email, tell us a bit about you, how you found Daybridge, and what excites you about the possibility of working with us!

We'll be in touch with next steps as quickly as we can.

Benefits and options

We offer a salary of £40,000 — £70,000 (negotiable), plus 0.4% — 0.8% ownership of Daybridge via tax-efficient EMI stock options.

We'll be growing our package of benefits over time. We currently offer:

  • Flexible working (we're all currently working from home, with occasional days together in person)
  • Comprehensive private medical insurance, with dental and mental health cover
  • Comprehensive income protection, so you'll still get paid if you fall ill and can't work
  • Life assurance for 4x your annual salary
  • Salary reviews every six months and whenever we raise more investment
  • 33 days flexible holiday, with the choice to use your bank holiday allowance on days that better suit you
  • 14 days paid sick leave, as well as paid mental health days, with more available if you need it
  • Paid bereavement and compassionate leave
  • A workplace pension scheme where we pay 3%, if you pay 5%
  • A brand new MacBook Pro, 4K display, and any other equipment you need
  • Regular (and optional) team socials

Our culture

We're committed to building a diverse and inclusive team where everyone is empowered to do their best work. We'll aim to hire people who have faced structural barriers to entry in the technology industry.

Frequently asked questions, answered.

Are you looking for freelancers or contractors?
We regularly work with contractors and freelancers to support us with smaller projects, mostly in non-engineering roles. We prefer to work with people on a full-time basis so we can offer ownership in the company. However, our priority is to work with the best people regardless of their situation; so are open to freelancers and contractors who only want to work with us on a temporary basis.
Do you offer internships or placements?
While we have no formal internship programme at Daybridge, we'll always consider exceptional candidates with experience working on production systems. We're also happy to meet candidates interested in future roles at Daybridge (e.g. following graduation).
Where are your offices?
We're currently working from home, but have office space in London, UK - near Farringdon station.
Do you hire recent graduates?
We welcome graduates to apply for a role at Daybridge. In your application, you need to demonstrate relevant experience: whether through employment and internships, or through personal projects and contributions to open source.
Can you sponsor visas?
We can't sponsor visas right now. We'll be working on securing a visa sponsorship license in the future.
Do you work with recruiters?
We aren't working with recruiters right now, but this might change in the future.
