# Subscribe to calendars, and bring everyone along

Sometimes, there are calendars that someone else keeps up to date for you. Public holidays, school timetables, F1 races, a team rota. You can now subscribe to any of them in Daybridge just by pasting a link.

Usually, everyone who wants to subscribe to a calendar has to find the link and add it themselves. In Daybridge, you can add a calendar subscription to a calendar you already share, so one person adds it and everyone in that calendar sees the events. Put term dates and deadlines on the calendar you share with your partner, or the race calendar on the one you share with friends. Add it once, and everyone's on the same page.

We automatically refresh each calendar subscription in the background, about once an hour, so changes reach your phone, your laptop, and the web together, even when the app is closed. And if one ever stops updating, your events stay put. We'll let you know, and pick up where it left off as soon as it's back.

Subscribed calendars aren't second-class citizens in Daybridge. Everything you're used to works with them: organise and colour-code them using Areas, set up custom reminders for events, and see only the ones you want with Tab filters.

If you've previously connected an iCloud account, the calendars you already subscribe to in Apple Calendar will appear in Daybridge when you update, holidays included. There's nothing to add again.

## Add your first calendar subscription

To get started, paste the calendar's address into Daybridge. It usually ends in .ics or starts with webcal://, and you'll often find one behind a "Subscribe" or "Add to calendar" link on a school, club, or team website.

Calendar subscriptions are available now on:
* Web
* The latest desktop app
* The iOS and Android apps (version 3.34.0), which are rolling out now
